Bronze Medallion training is the first lifesaving course for swimmers staring their aquatic leadership journey.

✓ Water rescue from land, pool, and open water
✓ Stride entries, head up strokes, lifesaving kicks, sculling, and using rescue aids
✓ Recognizing distressed swimmers and drowning victims
✓ Aquatic facility risk recognition
✓ How to tow, carry, and remove a victim from the water
✓ Searching for missing victims in shallow water
✓ Rescuing victims submerged in deep water
✓ CPR for infant, child, and adult drowning victims
Shore offers small group Bronze courses, and canadiates are not required to participate in a final exam. Candidates will have access to Shore course documents in addition to Lifesaving Society resources. A Lifesaving Society certification card will be issued in the mail within 90 days after successful course completion. In the meantime, candidates will receive a proof of completion letter and temporary certification card on the last day of the course.

Class ratio: 3 candidates : 1 instructor and examiner
Prerequisites: 13 years of age by the last day of the course, completion of Sunfish 11 and 12 (or equivalent)
