In Starfish 1 - 4, swimmers work towards floating, gliding, and kicking independently. Basic front and back crawl is introduced in Starfish 5 - 7, with progressions designed for our little fishes. Self rescue skills from rollover floats to treading are included in all Starfish levels.
Starfish 1 is for toddlers and children who are attending swim lessons for the first time. Swimmers will begin to learn how to float, rollover, and glide.
In Starfish 2, swimmers will work on floating independently as well as rolling over, gliding, and kicking with assistance.
In Starfish 3, swimmers will learn how to rollover and glide on their front and back without assistance. Starfish 3 is equivalent to Sea Turtle 1.
In Starfish 4, swimmers will focus on kicking independently and work on rollover glides. Swimmers will advance their self rescue skills as they learn to jump into the pool, swim to the wall, and climb out.
In Starfish 5, swimmers will work on rollover glides for 15 meters and are introduced to arm movements for front crawl. Swimmers will also learn how to tread water with assistance. Starfish 5 is equivalent to Sea Turtle 2.
In Starfish 6, swimmers will work on side kicking and progressions for basic front and back crawl with assistance. Swimmers will practice treading water independently.
In Starfish 7, swimmers will enhance their basic front crawl with the use of equipment, basic back crawl, and work on treading water for 30 seconds. Starfish 7 is equivalent to Sea Turtle 3. After completing this level, swimmers can move on to Sea Turtle 4.
