"In only 3 lessons, Arina made amazing progress with the boys. They moved from level 2 and began level 3. She smoothly taught them one skill that built to the next. Arina has a warm and upbeat way and keeps it fun. Very professional. Thanks so much!"

Our private lessons

Private lessons allow you to see more progress in less time. Achieve your swimming goals with the delivery of personalized lesson plans and feedback. Our programs are flexible and a commitment to several lesson sets is not required.

Our highly qualified and experienced instructors teach students swimming, water safety, and lifesaving skills, while maintaining a gentle approach. We stress how important it is to build relationships with swimmers based on trust. Our swim lessons do not solely consist of “instructional” activities. We include fun activities in our lessons and set time aside to connect with our swimmers. Once a meaningful bond is established, only then will it be possible to see progress.

Learn to swim

Meet your instructor, discuss your goals, and learn to swim in your backyard or condo pool!

The Lifesaving Society Swim Program

Preschool

Give your child a head start on learning to swim. The Lifesaving Society Preschool Program develops an appreciation and healthy respect for the water before these kids get in too deep. In our basic aquatic progressions we work to ensure 3 to 5-year olds become comfortable in the water and have fun acquiring and developing a foundation of water skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Preschool levels.

Swimmer

The Lifesaving Society’s 6-level Swimmer program makes sure your children learn how to swim before they get in too deep. Swimmer progressions accommodate children 5 years and older including absolute beginners as well as swimmers who want to build on the basics. We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.

Adult

Whether you’re just starting out or just want help with your strokes, our Adult Program is for the young at heart – no matter what your age. Set your own goals. Work with certified instructors to learn to swim, or improve your current swimming ability and water fitness. You won’t be going to the Olympics, but you’ll develop water confidence and smooth recognizable strokes good enough for lane swimming and fit enough for the beach. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Adult levels.

Swim Patrol

The Lifesaving Society’s 3-level Canadian Swim Patrol program provides enriched training for those who want to develop swim strokes and skills while having fun in the challenging world of lifesaving. Swim Patrol develop swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on Water Smart® behaviour. Skill drills enhance capability in the water, good physical conditioning and lifesaving judgment.

Swim to Survive

Looking to participate in Swim to Survive for your upcoming school trip?

The Canadian Swim to Survive standard is a minimum national standard of swimming skill. It defines the essential minimum skills required to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. These are expressed in a straight forward sequence of:

Private lifeguards

Most drownings and water-related injuries occur in unsupervised settings such as backyard pools. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under the age of 5, and we lose school buses of children every year. Drowning is preventable; one step you can take to become water smart is ensuring you swim in areas supervised by lifeguards. Less than 1% of drownings occur in lifeguard supervised settings.

You bring the fun and we'll worry about safety. The cost is based on the number of lifeguards needed and travel.
